leaving a dock extender/stub on the iphone all the time

is this safe to do?

the bottom part of the black plastic on my iphone 3gs has craked, & I dont want to risk more damage or strain on the connector pins or back plastic cover when I unplug it from a dock every few days, so I thought the extender could stay attached to the iphone & undock it from the extender.

A problem, just be careful it doesn't catch in your pocket. That would cause more damage.
