Hi all,

I'm looking for a lightweight 24"ish external monitor to use with my 13" MBP. Looking for internal speakers and lightweight design. It will travel with me sometimes depending how long I'm gone.

It will be my main computer after I sell my 21" iMac. Also, checking around is 800$ decent price to sell to a friend my 21" iMac with 12GB ram and 2TB HD in excellent condition?

Do you want a HDTV-resolution 16:9 (1920x1080) display or a 16:10 (1920x1200) display? I'd normally go for the latter.

I have a Dell U2412M (24" 1920x1200), which i'd recommend as a great value general purpose monitor. It connects via a mini-displayport-to-displayport cable. It isn't 'portable' by any stretch of the imagination, but its relatively slim and light for this size of monitor.

It doesn't have internal speakers (although I think Dell do a bolt-on soundbar for it).

+1 for the Dell U2412M.

The soundbar is not good according to reviews. In my case I got a x-mini speaker and I like it very much :D. It is not a Bose or Klipsch 2.x, but it is enough for me when I use my 17" MBP in clamshell mode.

Sorry to highjack!!

Question for the 2 owners?

Can you run the USB hubs on the monitor through just the displayport cable attached or do you have to use another USB cable??

Thanks.

Another USB to Mini-USB cable is included in the package
