Is this possible with iOS5.0.1 ?

I saw it in a post and I am not surenifmhe was joking or not. I am new here but would like that. What is the Impact on battery life.

LED notifications are available in iOS 5. You will notice a difference in battery life if you turn it on; obviously supplying more power to a light on the phone is going to eat up more battery than not using it.
