Well I recently took the jump on the $24 L4D special price and I was wondering what frame rates are people getting on their MBPs?

My mac specs,
2GB Ram
8600M GT 512MB
2.6 Ghz CPU
1920x1200 resolution

I get around 30 FPS on 1920x1200 with everything on low, strange part is that my FPS barely changes when I choose a lower resolution. I'm going to install CS:S, HL2 and TF2 and see how those run if anyone's interested.

Well I dont have a MBP, but I have a 2.4GHz iMac with 2GB RAM and ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro (20" - 1680x1050). I bought L4D just yesterday and its a great game. Running on XP in bootcamp I have found that the resolution generally makes the biggest difference in FPS. To keep it running smoothly I have all my settings from medium up to Very High and run at 1280x768 resolution in windows mode, im not bothered about having it fullscreen as its a great immersive game anyway you get used to it pretty quick.

Actually running in windowed mode will net you quite a few less frames per second than running fullscreen because your computer has to render both the OS AND the game, as well as splitting memory between the OS and game more so than just the game itself in fullscreen

I have the 20-inch model with 2.66GHz processor and NVIDIA GeForce 9400M with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory; was playing L4D last night and, although I didn't check my framerates, it ran really smoothly and was a blast. I love this game (and my new iMac).
