Hey!

Anyone else with a mid-2015 15 inch rMBP (mine has dGPU) can confirm whether their leftside fan is running a bit faster than its right counterpart? In iStat Menus I can see that the left fan usually runs at about 2155 rpm, whereas the right one spins at about 2000 rpm - which is what I was used to seeing on my old non-retina MBP.

For the record, I am running the DP of El Capitan, so maybe the stats are not showing up correctly.

Thanks.

Yup mine does too. It is perfectly normal.

It probably has to do with the left fan exhausting heat mostly from the CPU as it is closer while the right fan exhausts more heat from the GPU and some from the CPU. Most of the time the dedicated GPU isn't in use so it should be producing very little heat. Thus there is probably a slight bias towards the left fan having to exhaust more of the heat from the system.
