Hello guys! I went on a job trip for a month and left my laptop on sleep mode (90% last charge). When I arrived home I saw that my laptop was fully discharged for 5 days (saw offline on FindMy).

What are the consequences of having the MacBook (a lithium ion battery) fully discharged for 5 days straight? (I have to mention I was always keeping that 20-80% range, and this was a one-time event)

Thank you for your time!

I wouldn’t recommend doing it regularly but it’s not like it’s going to utterly destroy it that it’s happened once.
There’s also some over provisioning on batteries so when it turns off it still has a small amount of juice in there while it’s off exactly to help with this problem :)

Probably none. It's not something you should do routinely but it happens, and Apple knows it happens. You're not the first and won't be the last.

The battery was not discharged completely. The firmware detected the low charge and shut the machine down. The charge to you and the machine was 0%, but the battery was not fully discharged. You did no harm.

Happens to me all the time. The software manages the battery, don’t worry about it.
If you don't mind me asking, what is the health% of your battery and what is your laptops age? asking out of curiosity so also see the durability of the battery over time :)
