I have the 2012 13" MBP and I forgot it in the car twice this week, it was on the passenger seat inside my duffel bag. In both of the days the temp outside was 75-80 degrees, I don't know what the temp was inside the car exactly. I'm just worried that I might have messed it up somehow.

If you let it cool down before operating it (and it still turns on), then it should be fine. If anything, you might have damaged the battery a bit.

As long as the battery is ok, you should be alright. I think that would be the only thing that could really get messed up. Check for any bulging on the bottom. If you're really worried, you can either open it up yourself and physically check the battery, or take it to an Apple Store and have them check it.

But I think you'll be ok.

thanks guys mucho appreciation, since we're on the topic of battery. How does apple calculate the "7 hours" up time? 50% brightness?

Yes.

Wireless web testing conducted by Apple in May 2012 using preproduction 2.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i7–based 15-inch MacBook Pro units and preproduction 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i7–based 13-inch MacBook Pro units. The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 50%. Battery life varies by use and configuration. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.
