I can't type a capital w (i.e. "W") by holding down my left shift and the "w" key.

If I hold down the right shift key, it works fine. Lower case w works fine. Any other capital letter using the left shift also works.

So it's only the left shift and "w" combination that seems not to work.

Bizarro world, but VERY frustrating.

I borrowed another apple keyboard and the same thing happens - so it would appear to be a software problem.

Any thoughts?

I mentioned above - I borrowed another keyboard and the same thing happens.

Also, the left shift key works. The "w" key works, they just don't work together.

Any luck pprior

Pprior,

Any luck finding the solution to your problem? I'm seeing the exact same thing happening on my macbook...driving me nuts!

Help is welcome...

Well shortly after this I ended up taking my whole mac pro to apple and they ended up replacing it. Not related to the keyboard issue, but I got a new MP with a new keyboard, so I never got it "fixed."

I recall when I took it in that the genius said he thought it was a prefs problem.

Sorry I can't help more, it is a very aggravating problem! If you have a genius bar nearby, I'd try there, and maybe post back what you find out.

Good luck.
