Left USB not working?

My left USB isn't responding to anything! I tried plugging in a usb drive 16gb and is no responsive... It lights up for a moment then turns off. It didn't work when I got the laptop :[ The right USB works though. Is the USB hardware broken or do I have to change something in the settings?

Have you tried other USB peripherals? Maybe a keyboard or mouse? If it doesn't work on the left, but fine on the right ... take it to an Apple Store and let someone look at it. And no, I don't think there are USB settings.

Same thing with the mouse and ipod :[ the mouse lights up for a second then turns off.

Have you tried resetting PRAM and SMC?

If those don't work, then I think you need to go to an Apple Store and talk to someone.
