Okay, I have the D-Lux3 (equivalent to the Panasonic DMC-LX2) and I too want to import images in RAW format.

I currently store everything in iPhoto, and have always let that import my JPEGs, but I will be installing CS3 Design Premium soon, and so will also have Photoshop CS3 extended if that will help.

My understanding is that OS X does not support the Leica RAW format. Does Photoshop? Is there any other way to import? Will iPhoto be able to see and read the images? Is there any way to get iPhoto to import them directly?

Also, is there any real reason to get Aperture or Lightroom instead? I like using iPhoto, knowing that OS X and iLife will continue to support it as what is almost just part of the OS at this point.
