I got a DVI -> VGA converter with my powerbook.
What if I connected a 3m (10feet) long DVI cable to my powerbook, then put the converter on the DVI cable and connected the VGA end to a screen with a VGA input.
Would that work? Or is there a limit to how long the DVI cable can be when converting it to VGA? As far as I remember, a DVI cable isn't shielded in the same way a VGA cable is.
The reason I want to know, is that I'm considering building a video cable into a wall. At first I will probably use a device with VGA input only, but if I got a device with a DVI input later, it would be nice for the cable to be DVI too. And in case you're wondering, the device is a LCD front projector.
