Why do some of you Windows users do this??? This is Mac forum, what is YOUR POINT?? Why do we need to know that you bought a Lenovo?

I'm a MBP user! This ThinkPad is more bang for the bucks than the MacBook Air.

Is this for real?

I thought we had the whole "Windows Computers vs. Macs" pricing and value thing discussed already.

I have an X31 and it is completely awesome. Doesn't run OS X or iLife though...

I hope the moderator locks this thread fast. Just because you have a Macbook Pro doesn't qualify you to post your new Windows laptop as a topic of discussion in a MAC FORUM.

Okies :). I thought Windows and Mac can live in harmony. :p

I think what the other poster was trying to say was (and these are my words and interpretations) that "WOO HOO FOR YOU! YOU GO BOY!" but we really don't "care" on Mac Rumors if you buy an IBM laptop. Comparing the MacBook Air to anything else in the Windows/PC world, is, well, Apples to Oranges.

Good for you though! If it fills your needs and what you really want, I, along with all of the rest of Mac Rumors, am happy that you're happy with your purchase and wish you many wonderful computing years together.

BUT, and you had to know it was going to be said, coming to MacRumors and saying "Well I bought an IBM ThinkPad" then just listing the specifications with no other reason for purchasing it does nothing.

Now the correct thing to do, from the beginning, would have been to say something around the lines of "I bought an IBM ThinkPad because MacBook, MacBook Pro, and/or MacBook Air doesn't fit my needs for XXXX (being whatever that is). It's just not good etiquette to come to a Mac website and just say you're getting an IBM with no reason at all is just asking for a flame war even if you're an existing Apple user! lol! You're a MacRumors Regular and have to know we already have problems with that.

Anyways.. On another note, I had an IBM ThinkPad a while back and it was really great machine, even for a Windows machine. I sold that IBM for a PowerBook G4 Titanium that served me well for a long while. I never looked back and have been happy with all my Apple purchases.

Well, you're certainly more diplomatic than I. Good response.
Driving to Dayton this weekend. Nine hours. Wish you could move the city about 4 hours north . . . but then you'd be Cleveland, wouldn't you?

Good laptop, I think you over-payed though but it could be UK pricing also. Lenovo had a sale and I configured an X61s (base) to ~$900 shipped.

Totally agree with you! :) It's my bad for not having made my point clear.

Thanks, most of the time people take what I say personally and to heart, then proceed to call me out, curse me out, and crucify me all the while thinking that they are without fault. Not saying I'm without fault, personal experience will say otherwise, but I try to at least be humble.

Shows good character that you can say that though!

You're welcome and I do envy your Mac specs very much! :D Put a link to your PhotoBlog in your signature, I'm sure your fab equipments produces magnificent photos. I only have a Canon XTi and don't even know how to use it, lol.
