Leopard allowing charging while computer is asleep?

If I remember correctly, in the past the computers would not charge a device over USB while the computer is asleep.

After installing Leopard I noticed that I can put my MacBook Pro to sleep and my iPhone remains charging.

Can someone confirm this for me.

It charges on mine after asleep, and I'm running Tiger still, I'm pretty sure.

I know you couldn't with Tiger and my PowerBook. Haven't had a chance to try with Leopard. Although, I doubt it's software related and has more to do with your hardware.

Did some tests.

- Mac Pro with Tiger did not charge iPhone during sleep.

- Mac Pro with Leopard did charge iPhone during sleep.

I still would like others to confirm this for me. For me this would be a huge undisclosed feature of Leopard.

Tiger had no problem charging my phone (HTC P4350 PocketPC) while my computer was sleeping

Just experimented.

My touch on Tiger wouldnt charge while asleep.
It now charges during sleep w. Leopard.


Thats a pretty nice add.

Just tested my Nano (2nd Gen) with my white iMac C2D and it was charging while asleep. Which is very good.

iPhone doesn't charge while G5 Quad is asleep, running Tiger.

We'll see about Leopard next week.
