Hey guys,
I have a macbook pro 15" with 2.16 Ghz core 2 duo processor, 2 GB Ram. I recently had Tiger but i went ahead and erased Tiger and put Leopard on. The OS seems to be running fine but when i go through the dock, it is very choppy not smoothed like how Tiger was. I proceeded to:

defaults write com.apple.dock no-glass -boolean YES

killall Dock

Now, the dock is very smooth in 2D mode. Anybody know why it is choppy as default? Indexing for spotlight was finished a long time ago.
Thanks

Could you explain exactly what you did, my dock is also choppy.

I am fairly capable of doin this i just dont do this kinda thing regularly so could you maybe walk me through it?

Worry not. Many of us, including myself are in the same boat.
I think its a video card driver issue. Only time will tell.

Hey. I have a similar setup (C2D MacBook Pro, 2.4 Ghz, 4 GB Ram, 256 mb video) and the dock, minimize, dashboard are all choppy. I did an erase and install of Leopard.

I hope they come up with a fix soon, it makes the OS seem a lot cheaper.
