sorry for the long question, i purchased an imac in Nov waiting for 10.5 release i received 10.4 with an 10.5 update this concerned me a little but i thought all would be fine, since then i have looked deep into the system and have found icons that are only for the classic environment ie os9 i was told that leopard was strictly os10. my ? is would this be the case with a full os10 install which i thought i was getting? i dont mean to be picky but i waited for so long and feel a little ripped off! Any advice would be appreciated thanks

the icons are in /System/Library/CoreServices/CoreTypes.bundle/Contents/Resources. dont worry the OS 9 icons have been there since the Mac OS X beta and where presumably left there by Apple who couldnt be bothered removing them or forgot they where there. theres also a few tiger icons there and icons that werent used in the retail Leopard build.

Hi just tried out of interest to look at these icons you mention but when i clicked on CoreType.bundle disk inventory x opened up???

So I was looking through the folder and found all the network icons of all the machines. I guess 10.5.2 will be adding the macbook Air.

thanks for your replies. its seems strange that apple would leave so much junk behind if its not needed thanks again.

Maybe 10.5.2 is coming soon then?

Or a version of 10.5.1 for that certain model...

10.5.2 will be needed or a update that sends out that graphics file to all existing 10.5.1 because that i used to identify the machine on the network so the macbook Air doesn't need it...any system that connects to the macbook Air needs it. Mind you it will work fine without the graphic it would just use the generic one(the ACD)
