Leopard Downloads folder problem.

My downloads folder never refreshes itself. For instance I will download something in multiple parts so I will download part 1. I look at Downloads and part 1 will be there. I leave the Downloads folder open and continue to download part 2. When I look part 2 is not there, I must either close and reopen the folder or go somewhere else and come back to make part 2 visible. Is there any solution for this?
