Hi, newbie here but it looks like the place to get some sound advice.

I've got a couple of problems after an install of Leopard (clean install onto a brand new HD). All was sweet for a while then...

1. Finder
I can't move files or folders in the finder once I have put them within another folder, that is, while they're on the desktop I can put them where I like but once moved to a folder, they seem to be stuck. I've verified and repaired permissions etc., logged in as admin and have Read/Write Privs.

Worthy of note is, if I view a folder in either icon or column views I can move the items. But, within applications, for example Entourage (2004) I can't sort mail into any of my sub-folders by dragging and dropping – I have to right-click and use the menus. Likewise, in iTunes I cannot drag files to either playlists or to the desktop. Obviously these applications do not afford an icon view that would let me drag and drop as in the Finder.

2. Dock
• Keeps vanishing and/or hides completely and magnifications seems stuck up one end.
• Won't let me add items by dragging and dropping, but will let me add by starting an application/opening document then right-clicking so I can choose 'Keep in Dock'.

I've got DragThing 5.9 running as it seems a better way of accessing apps than cluttering the Dock and thought this may be conflicting, but if I quit the app I can no longer access the Dock at all.

Any help or suggestions here most appreciated before I return to Tiger until 10.5.1 shows up at least.

Cheers
