Now I know that Apple state Front Row is only compatible with Mac's that have built in IR remote support, but is this really the case?
If I Upgrade my Mini to Leopard and plug in an external USB IR remote sensor will I be able to control Front Row?

Anybody tried this?

What about Mac Pro's? Can they not use Front Row?

I will be upset if they have tied this to the built in IR :(

Front row works on my 12" powerbook using command-escape to start it up. It takes about 10 seconds to actually start, but after that it runs without lag. Although I haven't used it much, the arrow keys seem to control it fine

Im not sure if it works on a Mac without the IR but if you hit Cmd-Esc it triggers it on my MacBook and you then use the arrows, Enter and Escape to go through the menus.

Thanks guys!
If it will start up and you can control it via keys then an external IR remote should work fine :)
