Hi
I want to find x platform (and pref. open source) software to build webpages.
I have looked at Mozilla's composer but settled (advice from a technical consultant colleague) on WordPress 3 from WordPress.org to be used on a localhost [MAMP] for development.
The reason that I cannot use iWeb is that is for my school and once done, the site has to be uploaded to a RM WIndows server and will be edited by someone using a Windows machine and FileZilla/FTP remotely.
I have installed MAMP several times and now when I try to run install.php from the Admin folder (which is not part of the root), I get
Error: Server not running PHP or has them switched off.
I have done various resolves like - rewritten the config specifically to address the specific details and users; changed the url on the start page to / (instead of /MAMP/); opened config php.ini (I think was the extension) and switched on display php (and switched it back off); I have switched off and on and off and on websharing. Nothing changes the error message successfully.
Five minute install? I have been working on this since 7pm yesterday with only 6 hours sleep.
Bah.
So do I try composer or something else?
Will this work on the machine running Snowleopard
