Leopard not recognizing built-in audio

So I go to listen to some music this morning, only to find that my newly upgraded mac to Leopard won't play any sound. So I go to system preferences to find that in both the output and input menus, no devices are listed - my built in audio should show up.

Any ideas what's goin on? Thanks.
