leopard on emac...2 opinions - faster -slower

just picked up a used emac on craigslist for 150 bucks, this thing is clean and pristine.

1ghz
combo drive
1 gig ram
40gb HD
(currently running tiger)


anyhow, i keep reading reviews of leopard on the emac, some say it's faster, others say it cripples it.

( will be used for internet, email, word processing, maybe some low end games for my brothers )


i'd just like to get some of your views with those with similar setups
