Hi. I'm having some problems on my 1.33 GHz 12in iBook. Window shadows are displaying artifacts, and there is a blue hue on the grey window bars tint:

Also, video playback in QuickTime and VLC is not functioning properly. Here is a screenshot of the same 360p mp4 video in QuickTime and CorePlayer:

Lastly, if I change screen colors from millions to thousands, this is what happens:

Any idea of the possible reasons? The fact this is captured by screenshots would make me think this is not hardware related but a software problem (*crosses fingers...*)

Odd, looks like some UX library or colour profile gone bad
But you’re right, usually when artefacts are visible on screenshots it’s got nothing to do with hardware problems

That's not entirely correct. You can be sure the display and it's connection to the GPU is fine, but still there might be an issue with the GPU itself. The screenshot is taken from what's rendered inside the GPU, so you would indeed see artifacts.
I would still try a fresh install.

Did you fiddle with any of the quartz (extreme) settings?
I had enabled it, with no apparent problems at least for a while. When I noticed these artifacts I disabled it, but this did not solve the issue.

True that. I'll try reinstalling.

Thanks!
