IMO they can take as long as they want. Just put out a good OS.

How About All The Apple Stores Plus Apple Pre-Orders Get It October 26

Why not Apple premieres it for sale Friday October 26 in all their company owned stores and ships all pre-orders Thursday October 25 for Friday delivery but doesn't deliver stock to third parities until a week or two later?

Seems too soon for Apple to know their ship date is going to slip by 2 weeks.
