My macbook running Tiger can see the iMac running Leopard just fine, both in afp and smb, but not vice versa. The icon under sharing shows up in Leopard, but with an empty folder, and if I try to connect other than a guest, the prompt returns with invalid username and password.

However, one user claimed the networking problem is resolved and he's now able to get sharing to work. What about the rest of you?

The only networking issue I've had with Leopard is Active Directory related. Not had any problems whatsoever with shared folders etc - in either direction.
