Still pursuing the topic of added internal SSDs, does anyone know if (Sorbet) Leopard supports the Marvel 88SE9215 SATA chip? I found this on Amazon just recently, and they state Windows support back to XP, which is in Leopard's general timeframe. It gives me how that Leopard might support this. Does anyone know? Thanks!

88SE9215 is AHCI. I think Leopard has AHCI driver? I don't know if it supports third party AHCI controllers.
The AppleAHCIPort.kext Info.plist file does have the AHCI PCI class ID (01:06:01) matching personality "GenericAHCI".

The rest of the personalities appear to be for Intel and Nvidia chipsets.

Open Firmware does not have AHCI so it probably won't boot unless you can find an Open Firmware AHCI driver and add it to the rom of the PCI card (if it has a ROM). Or add it to the ROM of the Mac using a firmware updater.
