To put it more succinctly, I have studio monitors that plug into a Digidesign MBox 2. Under Sound preferences I used to be able to switch between "built in output" and "USB device" but now the MBox isn't recognized and it doesn't like up demonstrating it is getting power like it should be.

Clearly there is some compatibility issue with the update. Has anyone else encountered this? I just indefinitely screwed until Pro Tools releases Leopard compatibility? I don't even use Pro Tools, I just need the drivers for my Mbox to work.

From the digidesign website:

"Information on Pro Tools Compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard
10/24/07

Digidesign is excited about Apple’s new Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) release, and is working closely with Apple to bring support for the entire Pro Tools® product line to Apple’s latest operating system. Because Pro Tools software will not function with Leopard at this time, please wait to upgrade your operating system if you’re using Pro Tools on a Mac until we officially announce Leopard support."

(Edit) Additional statement from their Support > Compatibility section on their website:

" Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Pro Tools software and hardware are currently not compatible with the Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) operating system. For the latest information, check the announcement in the News section regarding upcoming support:
Information on Pro Tools Compatibility with Mac OS X Leopard
If you choose to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), you will need to install it on a separate hard drive or drive partition. To use Pro Tools 7 currently, you will need to boot from a Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) startup system."
