lep' VNC client not working

I have two other computers on my network that I control remotely using VNC: one running Tiger and the other Ubuntu. Chicken of the VNC has no problem with either (never has), but the Screen Sharing client in Leopard hangs on the Linux box, and refuses to authenticate with the Mac... any ideas? Is it just a buggy first release?
