Less vivid colours in full screen quicktime

When playing a video in quicktime, i've noticed the colours become much less vivid when played fullscreen. Has anyone else noticed this or can suggest a fix?

I am using both flip4mac and perian (perian may be a factor, flip4mac shouldn't as it isn't a wmv file)
