OK, all you need to do is this. Write:

  • Your current resolution
  • Display diagonal
  • Normal viewing distance from your display (measure it!)
  • Closest comfortable viewing distance from your display (measure it!)

After that, I'll link you to an image (for your resolution) that'll test your eye's ability to see fine detail.

All you need: a ruler or tape ruler. And a display, of course ;)
