Let’s talk about the orange accents

I have an ultra on order and am excited to get it. Black ocean band. I think I will like the big size, the longer battery life, etc.

One thing I don’t love is the orange accents on the crown and the action button. I wish there was an option for different colors. I’d be happy with black, or even red. Orange just doesn’t do it for me.

I will live with it, but I wonder if someone will start selling decals that you can put over the action button to change to color. And if it will work, or will stickers just fall off? Alternatively, I do have a couple of fine tipped paint pens- do I dare risk trying to paint over the orange? Or will I just get used to the orange?

What do you all think about the orange accents? Anyone else wish they weren’t orange?

Exactly the opposite. I love the orange. I love that the orange button controls a very loud alarm. It's all obnoxious and perfect in my opinion. But I am also a fan of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual with the orange face so that's the baseline.

Wasn’t a fan at first glance but like the above posters said, it gives it character and also the obnoxious color controls an obnoxious alarm. I can dig it.

I absolutely love black/grey/silver combined with orange... However I could imagine some military green instead of the orange could be nice, too...

there's been a red ring on the cellular version since it became available, for the Ultra its orange so it matches the action button ... I ordered the Ultra and had to look at the pics on Apple's site again to even notice some of the subtle details, I guess I spend more time looking at the watch face than other parts of the watch ... but I like it, as said above "character"

I don't mind it. I think orange makes sense for a rugged watch that's marketed towards hikers, climbers, etc. The gear these type of people use typically has orange in them somewhere. It isn't intended to be fashionable.

I’m assuming the color was chosen by apple for it’s designed purpose of being highly visible and identifiable. Which makes sense given the “extreme” conditions they are advertising, and the potential reduced visibility during a lot of those activities due to weather or lack of consistent/strong lighting. Easier for you to find the button. And potentially easier for others to identify you. Changing the color to something more visually appealing and less distinct would defeat its intended purpose (my assumption).

With all that said, I don’t mind it. It’s not my ideal color. But the intended purpose of the color in general makes it a non-issue for me.

The Orange is what put the AWU over the top for me. I love the pop of orange on the action button, the pop of orange on the tab of the grey trail strap, and of course the orange Alpine loop.

I can’t wait for 09/23!!

I dont like them honestly. I would’ve preferred a neutral color like black or white or laser lime/neon green.

I really like them, they go well with the titanium and are something different from what we've seen before on the Digital Crown for example. But I totally get that its a subjective thing and won't be to everyone's taste.

this isn’t a fashion piece like the AW. this is a rugged outdoors watch. this isn’t to be paired with a suit. orange is fine.

I wasn’t a fan of the orange but I get why it’s there. Same when people go hunting they wear the orange to be instantly seen.

But Right at the keynote I understood the purpose of this color

And during the dive introduction I wondered why they didn’t choose yellow fluo. Yellow is the common submarine color, my rather one.
