okay, so this afternoon I was (again) shopping for a new sleeve (I just get bored of them so quickly lol). So I was sort of going round all the brand websites I could think of and checking out their offerings. But the thing is it was hard to remember a lot of them, and they kept trickling in pretty slowly into my mind. It can be hard to compare prices and features if you're always going, 'oh, I forgot X brand', then 'ooooh, and then there's Y brand!! and Z brand!' lol.
I thought it would have been so handy if I could have worked from a kind of master list of all the brands that make cases, bags, and storage accessories for macs and apple products in general - whether specifically designed for them and only them, or just compatible with them.
So from that taxing (lol) experience I got the idea that we could all work together to assemble such a list! I figured aside from fickle characters like me who sell their as-new sleeves every six months and buy new, the list would also be handy for anyone looking for a sleeve for a new computer for themselves or even as a gift: googling it often gets you loads of links to stores including a bunch of really run of the mill stuff, so visiting a series of manufacturer websites is often a lot more orderly than trying to choose between the offerings from several different stores
The way I see this list, the goal is to be comprehensive even if it's at the expense of offering more detail about the products. So, you don't have to add any details about the brand or even a link - just posting the name is enough because people can paste it into google, job done - and no need to stick to brands you have personal experience with as it is not a list of recommendations. At the same time, if you have the time and inclination to add something more - recommendations, clever hacks, cautionary tales - then that will definitely be welcome!
