Hi guys! I am posting this from iPhone. :)

I have a simple question. Does it damage or hurt or shorten the lifespan of my iPhone's screen to leave it on for long periods?

What I mean is, say, the nightstand app. Using it as a full time clock would mean having the screen on for 60-70 hours per week if not more.

Dangerous?

No LCD don't burn it or anything.. so theoretically it should be fine.

It might shorten the length of the backlight.. but to be honest, you will probably replace your iPhone before the backlight goes out on you :p

60 to 70, damn I feel bad for you iphone, at least it knows you love it.

i think you read it wrong, i was merely providing an example. I don't actually do that.

Anybody happen to have any hard evidence or information/articles etc we might be able to look at concerning LCDs and extended operation time?

The 3G screeen could take more than that. Nothing to worry about.

They are fine. LCD do not burn in or do any damage for extened use... at least not within 2 years.
