Lexmark X1185 or new printer?

I'm surprising a relative with a MacBook this Christmas. She already has a printer - a Lexmark X1185. Has anyone used this printer with Leopard? Does it work well? I'm on the fence about taking advantage of the printer rebate promo. The Canon Pixma MX300 looks nice, but if the Lexmark plays nicely with Leopard, I don't need to mess with getting her another printer. If the Lexmark doesn't work, I need to order before 10/20 so I don't have to pay for a printer later.

Decisions, decisions. Any thoughts?

I do not own that printer, but cNet says that that printer will work with Mac OS X 10.4 and above. So it will probably work.
