I bought an 8GB Lexor Jumpdrive that has USB3.0 plastered all over it, but it is getting 10mb/s write and 32mb/s read in the disk drive test program from the App Store when plugged into my 2012 Macbook Air. When I plug it into a USB2 port on my Thunderbolt display, it's getting the same scores. Not sure if it's just broken, or what. Any ideas?

Did you format it to be a "Mac OS Extended (Journaled, encrypted)" drive in disk utility? That's what I did with my new PNY flash drive (it's only 2.0) and it was slow as molasses! I re-formatted it as a regular, non-encrypted drive and it works just fine.

1. You mean Lexar, NOT Lexor.
2. It is impossible to compare hardware without the exact product specification. Which JumpDrive do you have:

???

Use google to find some benchmarks for your drive! You should do this BEFORE you buy your next flash drive. Here is an example:

1. Thanks for the correction, I had thought it was a contraction of Lex Luthor.

2. It's an 8GB S73. It was $12, so I didn't expect the world, I had just expected a minor increase, but thanks again.
