Hello,

My Macbook Air 13" (late 2010) is over heating on the top left quarter.

Are there any Cooling Pads around which I could customize the position of the fans so it cools the precise area of my Mac?

Your help is much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Toru

Your MBA isn't overheating, or it would shut down. It's quite normal for parts of the body to become hot to the touch under heavy workloads.

If you're not already doing so, use iStat Pro (free) or iStat Menus ($16) to get accurate readings of your temps, fan speeds, etc., rather than relying on your sense of touch or sound. A forum member has posted a copy of iStat Pro that has been "tweaked" to enhance compatibility with recent OS X versions. You can download it here.

Thank you for your suggestion.

Actually I'm playing League of Legends and my goal is to have a constant fps by keeping the temperature as low as possible.

Top left is where the only fan is located.
Likely that a 4-year-old laptop fan could be coated with dust/crud
Is there any improvement if you try cleaning the fan/cooling fins?
It's not hard to get at the fan, and then you can even consider redoing the thermal grease on the heatsink.
