I received a LG Flatron W2242TQ monitor for Christmas, and I really like it. It replaces my 19" crt on my G4.

The G4 is a Quicksilver, with a ATI Radeon 7500, and it's running OS X 10.4.11.

The monitor is to be set to 1680x1050 @ 60 Hz, but in my VGA display preferences, I only have...
1400x1050 at various frequencies
1600x1024 @ 76 (currently using this setting)
1600x1200 at various frequencies and a variety of others, some of which work some don't

at the current setting, I am having some resolution issues (fuzzy lines across the screen)

I should also note, the install calls for an adapter which I do not have or the video cable... but again, the monitor is essentially working without it

anyone know what my solution would be? I have googled for any driver updates but cannot find one (tried the model number + mac os driver, also model number + ATI Radeon 7500, and variants)

is there a driver update I need, either for my OS or my ATI card?
do I require that adapter?

thanks

ok so I believe I have found out I need a PCI/PCI-X capable machine, meaning no way to upgrade this old G4 near as I can see...

as I said, the screen works, though it has fuzzy bits... is there a long term issue with using this monitor at a seemingly workable (though incorrect) resolution?
