I have a LG 27UD88 monitor and I just connected with my new MBP 2016 w/tb however the screen does not get mirrored on the LG, actually nothing happens besides the 'beep sound' the MBP starts charging but does not detect the monitor, and after about 10 sec the LG monitor goes to sleep :( (nothing but the built-in retina monitor appears under 'Displays' under System Preferences)

Anyone else have similar issues (I am using the LG supplied USB-C cable, but also tried the Apple USB-C supplied cable) ? Apple support blames LG, and LG support blames Apple.

My 27UD88 stopped working after a couple of days. It's not even charging the MBP through the USB C port. HDMI port still works.

And now it's with LG service centre.

Did you ever solve this? The geniuses at the repair shop LG told me to take it to, told me it's a driver issue. Morons.
