Recently I purchased an LG 32UL950 external display to use with my iMac 24" M1 & my new MBP 16" M1 Max.

Intermittently since I got the display it will come on then go into power saving mode and go blank. I have it set to Thunderbolt input - smart energy saving mode. I get a quick notice display is going into Power Saving Mode when the intermittent problems occur.

Called LG tech support yesterday to inquire why this is going on - I powered off monitor and replaced a couple of Thunderbolt cables.

Here was LG's suggestion:

Perform a hard reset. Turn off the unit. Unplug the power cord from the outlet. While it is unplugged press and holds the power button of the unit for 20 seconds. After that, directly connect to the wall socket. Turn the unit ON. That will do a hard reset. Then make sure all cables are securely connected.

Has anyone run into this?

Have had zero issues since late November so perhaps the hard reset worked.
