I recently got this display for use with one of my CMP5,1 machines. The display is beautiful but there are some annoying issues, primarily with some of my older software that does not work well with 4K displays.

Another annoyance is the DP cable needed to get the best performance. LG provided a DP and an HDMI cable and included a note saying that only their cables should be used. I had no problem using aftermarket HDMI cables, but the display would not work with an aftermarket DP cable rated for 4K. I need extra reach, and cannot understand what is different about the LG cable when there are standards for such things and I expected any quality cable to work. I really don't want to be dependent on a proprietary cable that may not be available down the road.

While I do like the display I'm beginning to think it's not a good fit for me, and the cable issue may seal the deal. It may have to go back to the store. Can anyone tell me what's going on with the display not working with aftermarket 4K DP cables?

Thanks,

John
