HI,
i hope i can get this straight...
the lg dvd drive, HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH22NP20: can burn cd's but not dvds.
i'm using " BURN" with "Patch Burn" (or with out) to no avail. The drive shows up as "vendor supported" in sys pro but when i try to open a file to burn ,no file is accessible. local Mac-geek says try to reinstall os, but drive ejects disk
i cannot open drawer except at restart
I'M kink of stupid so could replies be dumbed down a bit??
I'm running os 10.4 11
Machine Name: PowerMacG3series
Machine Model: PowerMac1,1
CPU Type: PowerPC 750 (2.2)
Number Of CPUs: 1
CPU Speed: 350 MHz
L2 Cache (per CPU): 1 MB
Memory: 512 MB
Bus Speed: 100 MHz
Boot ROM Version: 1.1.1f4

Just a suspicion. But could your OS just be too ancient to have proper drivers for the drive? A G3 was probably never considered for it.

Ya Know? My roomie (windohs 7) says the same thing.
I started out trying "Burn" with no end of issuses, Yesterday I got "Toast 6"and started burning my first disc at around 3 p.m. At 12:30 A.M. I finally stopped th "burn" still in the encoding file stage.
Now, my aquaintane, The Mac Geek, suggested I alternatly remove single sticks of ram while attempting the install of toast(as the install was not taking) this succeded, but I was down then to what 348 ram... this still does not seem to cover the extrem slowness of the burn
