LG Deep Colour (HDR) not supported on 2018 MacBook?

Hey guys,

I have a 13-inch 2018 MacBook Pro. Before this I had a 2013 MacBook Pro, also 13-inch.

I have always had Deep Colour selected on my LG 4K monitor with my old MacBook, however, whenever I select it on this one the monitor switches off and I cannot use it unless I turn it off again.

Is it not supported on newer laptops, or is it the eGPU I'm using that is preventing it? I have the Blackmagic eGPU at the moment.
