The only thing I see from Florin101 is that apple is "forcing LG to step up their quality", and that's not on the page you linked to. That said, I doubt that Apple has made LG their sole supplier of the panels. It puts them in a corner, and Samsung had better quality.

Agreed. Apple has supply chain down to an art. No way in the world would they be single supplier on anything. They use multiple suppliers and play them against each other.

This is not true. There was a rumor in October coming from the The Korea Times claiming that, but it was quickly debunked by Samsung which said they are are still making displays for Apple.
Another Korean newspaper later claimed that there would be a 50% price hike from Samsung to keep manufacturing SoCs for Apple but Samsung denied that one as well.
