LG Ultra Fine Monitor triggers 2016 MBP fan

seems like whenever I plug up my MBP to my ultra fine monitor the fan on my 2016 MBP starts running and my 2016 MBP gets hot. What is going on?
 
Your graphic card has to push 4K or 5K@60Hz. This is going on.

Edit: Or what resolution are you running?
 
When I run the display optimized for "Best for LG UltraFine" I only get a fan if I'm playing a game that is graphics intensive. It never comes on for simple workstation stuff. (with Radeon Pro 460)
