I bought this new from the Apple store in February and this flickering just started tonight. It's hard to capture, I had to use slo-mo to get it, but it's super visible when you're looking at the screen. Nauseating almost, and I start a work from home job on Monday so I need this thing desperately. My question is, should this have come with a 1 year warranty? Do I just need to take it back to the Apple store or should I contact them on chat? Sorry, I have a ton of anxiety and I just want to do the right thing first try with as little conversation as possible, I am shy 😅

I posted the video on Reddit, if anyone has any advice. Of course I restarted everything and it's still present. No issues with my MBA M2 screen.

Of course I post this and it stops... I think I would still be interested in a warranty replacement because I definitely can't be starting at that for 8 hours a day and now I feel like it's unstable. Perfect timing, really!

First, taking it back to the Apple store is a waste of time, they're going to tell you to contact LG Support.

Second, and unfortunately, LG's support is about the worst in the industry and you're going to lose the display for at least 3 to 4 weeks if you send it in for repair. LG will NOT replace the monitor until they go through the process of repairing it first, and it's part of the terms of the warranty, so you have no real choice in the matter.

There's a reason people hate the LG Ultrafine displays. The display screen is beautiful, but everything else about them is garbage. They have a failure rate like nothing I've ever seen (my local Apple Store genius bar tells me the same thing).

Thank you. I'm still not sure what I will do, but the problem hasn't repeated itself yet. I have no budget for even a temporary backup monitor, and I have to have a 15"+ screen for job requirements, so my MBA on its own for a bit won't cut it. I guess I just need to cross my fingers.

Just did a quick search and found this article although it references the 5K monitor and is a few years old I'm hoping it will still apply to your scenario. https://eshop.macsales.com/blog/64335-lg-ultrafine-5k-flickering-screen/
