I've seen some another discussion here about color and/or brightness uniformity mostly regarding the LG 5k Ultrafine panel, but thought I'd see if anyone had experiences with the 4K. I just purchased one and received it yesterday. At first glance, it is pretty much exactly what I wanted and expected: smaller form factor 4K (running at 200%/'looks like 1080p', of course, which is how I intend to use it). It mostly looks gorgeous and sharp, but that's also compared to a very old 1080p monitor, so it's not a very useful comparison.

Problem is this: today I've become aware of a patch in the middle and the left side, almost 1/2 the height of the panel that is either "cooler" in terms of color or simply "less bright", hard to tell exactly which. Especially noticeable in lighter hues/white screens and present to more or less noticeable degrees across all brightness settings:

In this (iPhone) pic it just looks to me like some regions are slightly 'pink' or warmer and some are cooler colored, especially the one I notice most. It also makes me think I'm being overly vigilant about it not being 100% perfect.

Am I just being too picky about consumer monitors? Given that the issue is *somewhat* subtle, is this going to be par for the course if I try to get a replacement? I know the Ultrafines are still just consumer monitors that are a little pricey for what they are, but should I expect better? Also relevant is that my other monitor is an old Dell that's most likely TN, so I'm curious if IPS monitors just typically have these brightness uniformity issues. If this is just to be expected I will probably keep the monitor and live with it as opposed to playing the "monitor lottery".
