Can someone please test 11.2 and the LG 5k display with a MBP M1 to see if the graphic glitch (center of the screen) has been fixed?

I returned my display because of this. It happened every now and again and could be fixed by replugged the display or restarting the MacBook Pro.

I'd like to know this as well.

P.S. So you returned your screen? I'm still on an Intel Mac mini and MacBook Pro and I can tell you both work perfectly with the LG Ultrafine 5K.. so it's definitely the M1.. not the LG5K..

Yes I tried two of them and they both had the issue. Also the LG app in the Mac App Store is 8 months old. I wonder if this is Apples problem or LG’s problem or both.

Like I said, I never experienced the glitch in the middle on my Intel Macs.. and I’ve owned three Ultrafine 5Ks now.

If Apple made you think it’s the screen and not your Macbook I think that’s quite sad..

It’s just been a mess. The M1 and Big Sur brought huge changes and the bugs are still being ironed out. I had a feeling this would happen but I am surprised that more testing was not completed before launch. As for the display it is very expensive and only compatible with Macs. The issues and lack of support make me nervous to buy one again.

Problem Solved! Here is your answer...Apple is currently promoting and selling a monitor that it full well knows is not compatible with Big Sur. The issue is NOT the Apple Silicon - the issue is Big Sur and LG's incompetence. The current firmware for this monitor is not compatible with Big Sur, the LG Display Manager App is not functioning in Big Sur. LG releases a firmware update in January that it had to roll back because it made the distortion issue worse. Apple blames LG and LG blames Apple. Regardless - Apple still promotes and sells this monitor directly to consumers knowing full well that these issues exists without making any disclaimer. The solution? Well there are three:
1. Stick it out and hope it gets fixed. When you experience the distortion simply unplug the thunderbolt or USB C from the back of the monitor and plug it back in.
2. Return the monitor and get an alternative brand NOT from LG.
3. Wait for yet another class action lawsuit against Apple for knowingly selling defective products and hope you get a share.
Dear Apple: May I suggest you concentrate on fixing issues like this over developing an ever growing amount of Emojis?
