Hi all :)

First post from a soon to be macOS convert!

I've ordered a MacBook Pro 15 for which I'm looking to buy a new external monitor. My current Dell monitor has a HDMI port that enables me to hook up an Amazon Fire TV stick. Does anyone know if it's technically possible by any means to get HDMI displayed on an LG Ultrafine 5k monitor?

So, I realize this post is like two months old, but it showed up on another thread I was responding too. I'm gonna say the answer is "no." The device connecting to this monitor must be able to output via Thunderbolt (at least 2, and 3 of you want to run at native resolutions).

Also, as a soon (or maybe already) macOS converts, Apple monitors have never really been about multiple inputs or flexibility.
