Hi guys,

Excuse my ignorance on this topic: I've recently been looking into the LG Ultrafine display and am wondering what the advantages of buying one would be over just getting a 4K display that's bigger and for half the price and connecting it via an HDMI to USB-C dongle. Could anyone please let me know if they already have their MacBook hooked up to a tv regularly as a monitor and what their experience has been like?

Thanks so much!

You'll have to do more research into TVs. Generally they're not good for computer monitors. There's less quality control for TVs than monitors. This is why monitors tend to be more expensive.

I almost went with a 4K TV over the 5K, but it was very difficult to find a comparable quality TV. If you do get a TV, you'll want a 40" 4:4:4 PWM free 4K @ 60hz.
