I know there is a lot of debate mainly dealing with earlier models with which screen model better is better. What's the story with the late 2013 models? Is the Samsung screen still brighter and more vibrant? Or are the LG's now better to have? Which one have whiter whites/crisper color?

Its a crap shoot imo, you can get a perfectly working screen that's made by LG and a bad screen made by Samsung.

From what I've read, it appears that the IR people had with the LG screen in the 2012 rMBPs has been resolved by LG so that should not be a concern. I thought I read about some light bleed issues with samsung screens - I can't be totally sure.

My advice, get the rMBP, use it as you normally would and if the screen is working within normal parameters then enjoy :)

Both screens are better than what they used to be. I think the Samsung colors might have a slight edge to the LG in the latest generation. (I went through 5 replacements 4 LGs and 1 Samsung) And honestly the Samsubg had the least amount of bleed too. Seems they get equally as bright too.

I haven't even checked to see who supplied my screen. It looks great and I simply don't care or need to know.

On he 13" rMBP you can only know the panel number through settings (mine is A18); which model has yours? I thin on Haswell 13" there are 018 and 020 panels.

What does this A18 signify which Brand is it Samsung or LG ? And how to find it??
