I just finished building a library to make it dead simple to implement the various camera object detection types. It can use iOS 5's face detecting CIDetector, iOS 6's face detecting AVMetadataObject, or iOS 7's QR/Bar/Machine Readable Code AVMetadataObjects.

Takes about four lines to implement, and I wanted to drop a link here:
